Introduction According to google's definition, a society is “the aggregate of people living together in a more or less ordered community”. A society is a combination of people who socially interact with one another and these socially interactive people share the same territory. In simple words, a society can be defined as a group of organized personnel who are connected to each other for political, patriotic scientific, religious, cultural, and many other purposes. Such people are collectively a body of individuals serving as a member of a community. Whereas a housing cooperative loosely called a housing society is a legal body that owns a real estate having one or more residential buildings. In a housing society, membership is voluntary, but the control is democratic. So, one may wonder what are the legal rights of a member in a housing society ?
